Former RI GOP Chair Bell Named New RI Senate Minority Chief of Staff

Brandon Bell is the new Rhode Island Senator Majory Office Chief of Staff.

Former Rhode Island Republican Party Chair Brandon Bell has been appointed to the role of Chief of Staff for the Rhode Island Senate Minority Office.

“Brandon is very qualified for the role of chief of staff and legal counsel,” Senate Minority Leader Dennis Algiere said on Tuesday. “We’re excited to have him come aboard.”

Bell, an attorney, was active during his time as the state Republican Party chair. 

He filed multiple ethics and Board of Elections complaints against Democratic politicians, including the complaint questioning how Shawna Lawton funded her mailer in 2016 against then-Speaker of the House Nicholas Mattiello.

Mattiello consultant Jeff Britt was ultimately found innocent on felony and misdemeanor charges for his involvement in the mailer by Superior Court Judge Daniel Procaccini in 2020.

In 2017, he refused to answer questions about how former President Donald Trump responded to the events in Charlottesville, Virginia
