There are many issues but all of them combined exacerbate a bad economy.

2.  What do we need to do to improve Rhode Island's economy?

I firmly believe that nothing will change unless we have a more balanced legislature.  We need more non-Democrats.   More Independents, Republicans, Libertarians...to stop the bad legislation.  We especially need legislators that will put the interest of the taxpayers first instead of the political insiders.

3.  What is the greatest challenge facing  Rhode Island as a state?

I think Rhode Islanders have lost faith in our government. Between 38 studios, the lack of an independent investigation into it, the tolls forced upon us and the absence of transparency from the Governor and the Attorney General have caused this. It will be very difficult to have any confidence in any incentive or partnership that our politicians would propose to spur economic development for fear of another scandal.

4.  Why are you running for office?

I have run for State Representative in the past and had no intention of running this year but when my opponent Rep Deborah Fellela voted for the tolls that is what pushed me over the edge. I just can’t stand by and watch what our government is doing to our state.  It’s fight or flight.

5.  Who is your inspiration?

I have two.  Politically, the first is former State Representative Robert Watson.  I admire him for his dedication to our state and his knowledge of issues as well as his sharp tongue. He was the only NO vote for the moral obligation bond for 38 Studios which reinforces my admiration for him.  I also have great admiration for former State Representative Nicholas Gorham for most of the same reasons.   Both of these gentleman inspired me to make my initial run in 2010.
