Black Lives Matter RI PAC Announces General Assembly 2022 Priorities

The Black Lives Matter Rhode Island Political Action Committee (BLM RI PAC) on Wednesday released its priorities for the 2022 General Assembly legislative session. 

"BLM RI PAC strives to affect change every legislative session. The below highlights where our attention will be most needed in 2022. There are other issues not listed here that are supported by the BLM RI PAC," said the organization on Wednesday.  

"Our priorities will be shaped throughout the year depending on concurrent successes or emerging issues that warrant an all-hands approach," they added.

BLM RI PAC's Executive Director Harrison Tuttle was recognized this week as "22 to Watch in RI in 2022" by GoLocal.

The following are BLM RI PAC's priorities along with bill sponsors:

Cover all Kids (Medicaid Coverage for all Children) - (Rep. Morales)
Custodial Sexual Assault Bill - (Rep. Henries) 
Repeal LEOBOR - (Sen. Mack)
Prohibit Credit Checks for Employment - (Rep. Morales) 
Sealing Evictions - (Sen. Mack)
End Solitary Confinement - (Sen. Mack)
Crisis Intervention Team (CIT) Programs
(CAHOOTS) Statewide Mobile Crisis
