Veteran & Retired RI State Trooper, William F. 'Bill' Boland Dies at 85

Born in Providence, a son of the late William and Philomena (Dilucci)Boland, he lived in Johnston and Warwick most of his life. He was a United States Marine, a Rhode Island State Trooper, and a member of the Amtrak Police Department where he retired from in 2001, and a graduate of Johnson and Wales University in Providence.
Devoted to his family, he is survived by his son, William Boland Jr. of Cranston, his grandchildren, Nicholas and Joseph, and his nephews and niece. He is also survived by his beloved brother James Boland of North Providence.
Bill will be deeply missed by all who knew him. His warm disposition, quick wit, and ability to make people laugh were one of the many qualities that made him special to all who came in contact with him.
Burial will be private at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter, RI.
