Thomai Petropoulos, 86, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Saturday, November 27, 2021 at home in Cranston.

Born in Kalloni, Grevena Greece, she was a daughter of the late Christos and Maria (Batzikas) Karageorgos. She emigrated to the United States in August of 1956 during difficult times in Greece, married Athanasios “Arthur” Petropoulos in September of 1956 and with her husband owned and operated the Continental Restaurant until his passing in 1997.

She was the beloved mother of Dr. Peter Petropoulos and wife Georgia, Christine Anastasiadis and husband Paul and grandmother of Nancy Peters and husband Michael, Thomai Dion and husband Jon, Athanasios Petropoulos and wife Christina, Nikolaos Petropoulos and wife Gianna. She was the loving sister of Evridiki Metakos, Fotios Karageorges and wife Pam and Haido Titelis.

She will be remembered for her fierce love and loyalty to her family.  Her greatest pleasure came from spending time with them. Her love for her family can only be eclipsed by her love for God. She was a joy to be with and she was the light of everyone’s life. Her three best friends were her siblings, and they will miss her the most; the Monday morning coffee club will never be the same.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Service Wednesday, December 1st at 10 a.m. in the Greek Orthodox Church of the Annunciation.

Burial will follow in North Burial Ground. Calling hours will be held Tuesday from 4-7 p.m. at Woodlawn Funeral Home, 600 Pontiac Avenue Cranston.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Church.

Please share memories and condolence at Woodlawn Funeral Home.
