Shelia Lashay Hightower Dies at 33

Shelia L. Hightower, 33, passed away suddenly on July 26, 2024, at Rhode Island Hospital in Providence. She was born in Atlanta, GA, on January 22, 1991, to Gloria Hightower and Troy Alston. She worked as a home health aide, displaying her compassion for caring for others.

 

Shelia was the loving granddaughter of Eunice Mathis and goddaughter of Gloria Hightower. Shelia is survived by her loving siblings Lakeya, Warren D, Derrick, Shatoya, Antonio, Jalissia and Sterling. Shelia was a loving aunt/mother to her 25 nieces and nephews that she truly loved. She is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles and cousins.

Shelia truly lived life to the fullest through simple pleasures; chatting with friends and family, dancing, ministering in the church and cooking/baking. Shelia was a nurturing soul who would light up a room. Her aspirations were becoming a heart surgeon and therapist. She is now joined in heaven with her loving family who have predeceased her.

 

Her visitation will be held Saturday, August 3, 2024 from 2-4pm followed by a service at 4pm in the Thomas & Walter Quinn Funeral Chapel, 2435 Warwick Ave., Warwick. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Shelia Hightower Memorial Fund, C/O 56 Lincoln Ave. Apt. 1, Central Falls, RI 02863 will be appreciated.
