Retired Town of N. Providence Special Ed Teacher, Frank DeSimone, Dies

Frank J. DeSimone, 62, of So. Pier Road, Narragansett passed away on June 8, 2021, unexpectedly at home.

Born in Providence, he was the son of Louise (Ianotti) DeSimone and the late Frank DeSimone.

Frank was a Special Ed teacher for the Town of North Providence before retiring.

Coaching was his passion, he coached basketball at Johnson & Wales and in many RI school districts, for middle and high school. He was also a baseball coach for his sons in the Johnston Little League. In addition, he enjoyed listening to all music, especially Bob Seger, Jazz, Soul, and Blues.

He was the beloved father of Kelly Riggieri and husband William, Casey, Daniel, and Zachary DeSimone, and grandfather of Brooks and Henry. He was also the brother of Karen Young and her husband Robert; uncle of Brian and Samuel and companion of Toni Algieri.

His funeral will be held Thursday at 9:00 am from the Romano Funeral Home, 627 Union Avenue, Providence followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Holy Cross Church, 645 Hartford Avenue, Providence.

Graveside burial to follow in St. Ann Cemetery.

Visitation Wednesday 4-7 pm.
