Mark I. Gitlin, of Barrington, Passes at 65

Mark I. Gitlin, of Barrington, RI, age 65, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021, surrounded by his loving family.

He was the beloved husband of Marilynn (Stiman) Gitlin to whom he was married for 36 years.

Mark was a devoted father to his children Kara, Ethan, and Josie. He is survived by his mother Goldie Gitlin and his sisters Rebecca Eisenberg and Barbara Green.

Mark worked at Mid City Scrap in Westport, MA for 50 years. He was a mentor and trusted advisor to many. A man of honor and integrity, Mark devoted his life to growing the family business and ensuring its longevity beyond him.

Mark’s motto in life was to live life well and without regrets.

He was an avid golfer, bike rider, and bodysurfer. He especially enjoyed these activities with his family and friends. He was adored and was adored by his family.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, July 29, 2021, at 11:00 am at Plainville Cemetery, 1400 Old Plainville Rd., New Bedford, MA.

Shiva will be observed Thursday, July 29, 2021, from 7:00 – 9:00 pm at Temple Habonim, 165 New Meadow Rd, Barrington, RI.
