Linda E. (Cabral) Slade of East Providence Dies at 79

Linda E. (Cabral) Slade, 79, of East Providence, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2022 at home, surrounded by her loving family.

She was the wife of Harold W.  Slade, they were married for 55 years.

She was born in Providence, the daughter of the late Charles and Ruth (Gersch) Cabral.

Mrs. Slade was a Stone setter for many years for the Catamore Jewelry Company and Trifari Jewelry Company, before retiring.

She lived in East Providence for 50 years coming from Providence, where she was a 1960 graduate of Hope High School.

Mrs. Slade enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, collecting carousel horses, and watching the game show network. She also enjoyed attending games of the former RI Reds Hockey and the Providence Bruins Hockey teams.

Her and her husband used to bowl in a league and liked going out dancing. In addition, they enjoyed spending time in Point Judith and Galilee, RI.

Besides her husband, she is survived by her son James Slade and his wife Kathaleen of Memphis, TN; her daughter Patricia Kimball and her husband Richard of Attleboro, MA.

She was the sister of George Cabral and sister-in-law of Margaret Cabral of Tampa, FL.

Mrs. Slade was the grandmother of Kaycee Glaze, the stepgrandmother of Hannah and Sarah Kimball, the aunt of Alexis Lape and Caleb Cabral.

Relatives and friends are kindly invited. Calling hours will be held prior to the service on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 4:00 pm-7:00 pm. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, April 20, 2022 at 6:45 pm at the REBELLO FUNERAL HOME, 901 Broadway, East Providence, RI.

Burial will be privately held at a later date, at the Rhode Island Veteran’s Memorial Cemetery, Exeter, RI
