La Salle Standout Athlete Anthony "Tony" C. Masi, Jr. of West Warwick Dies at 73

Anthony "Tony" C. Masi, Jr., 73, of West Warwick, passed away on Saturday, June 18, 2022 at RI Hospital. Born in Providence and raised in Cranston, he was the son of the late Anthony and Gloria (Sorrentino) Masi, Sr.

Tony worked in jewelry and owned his own business for many years. He enjoyed playing golf and trivia, watching college sports, collecting baseball cards, and coaching soccer. He loved his family dearly and cherished the vacations they went on together, the lobster dinners they shared, and the many holiday traditions they celebrated.
In his earlier years, he was a standout track star at LaSalle Academy, and in 2000 was recognized in the Providence Journal as one of the most significant Rhode Island high school athletes of all time. In his later years, he found most joy in attending his granddaughters' track meets and soccer games, rooting for his alma mater, the University of Tennessee, and caring for his cats Pepe and Yankee.
He is survived by his loving children, Kara Masi of Brooklyn, NY and Jason Masi and his wife Robin of Cranston; his cherished grandchildren, Lukas, Hannah, and Cora Masi. He was the dear brother of Patricia Paolella and Kate Black.
VISITING HOURS will be held in the NARDOLILLO FUNERAL HOME & Crematory, 1278 Park Avenue, Cranston on Friday from 5:00 - 7:00 pm. Burial will be private.
