John M. Martinez Dies at 76

John M. Martinez, age 76, passed away on January 11, 2022.

He was a son of the late Manuel and Rose (Amaral) Martinez; beloved husband of 56 years to Marie (Cunha) Martinez of North Providence; loving father of Charlene Bowman and her husband Brian of Pennsylvania; cherished grandfather of Tyler A. Bowman and Collin R. Bowman both of Pennsylvania; brother of the late Irene Bagian, Dolores Perreault, and Paul Martinez; and brother in law of John Cunha and his wife Louise of West Warwick, Pearl Martinez of Warwick, and Charlotte Laiter of East Providence. He also leaves many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews. He was the uncle of the late George M. Bagian Lt. PFD, Daniel Christopher, Adam Vero, and Christopher D’Ascoli.

He worked at Wardwell Braiding Machine Company in Central Falls for many years.

Visitation will be held Friday 4:00-6:00 p.m. in the Pontarelli-Marino Home, 971 Branch Ave, Providence followed by a service in the funeral home at 6:00 p.m.

Burial will be private.
