Joao Carlos Botelho Dies at 71

Joao Carlos Botelho, 71, of Easterbrooks Avenue passed away on February 7, 2022 at Waterview Villa.  He was the husband of the late Maria dos Anjos (Cabral) Botelho.  

Born in Agua do Pau, St. Michael, Azores, Portugal, he was the son of the late Manuel and Margarida (Vieira) Botelho.   He is survived by his children: Tony Botelho and his wife Christina; Lubelia Dunbar; Al Botelho and his wife Alexandria; Verb Botelho; Carla Register and her husband Nathan and grandchildren: Stephanie Botelho, Vanessa Botelho, Tony Botelho Jr, Michelle Dunbar, Victoria Dunbar, Alec Botelho, Alexa Botelho, Shawntel Botelho, Mya Botelho, Kennedy Botelho and Katalina Register.  He was the brother of Maria de Jesus Almeida.

Mr. Botelho was educated in Portugal and employed as a foreman for Mt. Hope Builders before retiring.

Calling hours will be held Wednesday, February 9th, 9:30 – 10:30 AM at the George Lima Funeral Home, 367 High Street with a Mass of Christian Burial, 11 AM at St. Elizabeth’s Church, 577 Wood Street.

Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
