Janice S. Demurjian of Warwick Dies

Janice S. Demurjian passed away on May 13, 2026, in Warwick, Rhode Island. Born on May 2, 1949, in Providence, Rhode Island, Janice lived a vibrant, creative, and deeply meaningful life centered around curiosity, compassion, and connection.

A graduate of Boston University with a degree in Physical Therapy, Janice approached both her profession and her personal life with remarkable intelligence and ingenuity. She was a natural problem solver whose creativity extended far beyond her career. Whether running a candy business, designing wearable art, or finding imaginative solutions to everyday challenges, Janice brought originality and joy to everything she touched.

Janice was funny, supportive, optimistic, smart, and endlessly creative; qualities she strove to pass on to her daughter, Amanda, with whom she shared an unbreakable bond and lifelong friendship. Together, they filled their lives with music, laughter, travel, theatre outings, concerts, movies, and memorable road trips, often singing at the top of their lungs along the way.

She had a lifelong love of music and was a gifted singer who participated in several musical organizations throughout her life. Janice also cherished travel and adventure. After graduating college, she toured Europe and proudly counted attending Woodstock among her treasured life experiences.

She was predeceased by her parents, Ashod and Mary Demurjian. She is survived by her daughter, Amanda D. Guertin; her former husband, Nelson Guertin; her sister, Marcia Hodgkinson and her husband David; her nieces, Lana Hodgkinson and her partner, Kenny, and Greta Hodgkinson and her husband, Etienne; her great-niece, Kristina Hodgkinson and her fiancé, Jac; as well as great-nieces and nephews Nadilyn, Viviane, Max, and Jack; along with countless cousins and dear friends whose lives she touched deeply.

Janice will be greatly missed and lovingly remembered for her warmth, wit, creativity, and the joy she brought to those around her.
