Gertrude "Gert" C. Gray, Passes at 96

Gert loved and prayed for her deceased siblings: Freida, Martin, Hilda, Al, and Eddie. Growing up at the family farm on Cherry Hill Rd, faith and family was everything.
She was the beloved mother of Thomas and Robert. She was employed by AT&T during World War II as a switchboard operator in Providence, RI until her marriage in 1949. She rejoined the AT&T workforce in 1967 after the loss of her husband Thomas B. Gray Jr. and was promoted to Manager in Taunton and Brockton until her retirement in 1986. Retirement gave her an excellent opportunity to provide extra care for her beloved grandchildren: Melissa, Jessica, Thomas, Patrick, and Jonathan Gray.
She was a communicant of St Paul’s Lutheran Church in Providence, RI, and actively participated in Church Activities and Bible study. A faithful member of St. Paul's since birth and a friend of Pastor Schultz since 1988, Gert traveled the 18 miles to attend services until recently. Gert enjoyed her home, family, and friends in Dighton fully for 72 continuous years. She was an excellent praised baker and family communicator.
Gert is survived by her sons, Thomas Gray and his wife Margaret of Fairhaven, Robert Gray and his wife Jane of Dighton, her grandchildren, Melissa and Alex Platt of Fairhaven, Jessica Gray and Michael Gage of Northborough, Thomas and Katelyn Gray of Saunderstown, RI, Patrick Gray and Stephanie Gandolfo of Norwood, and Jonathan and Danielle Gray of Taunton. Gert has been blessed with four Great-Grandchildren, Elizabeth, Aimee, Theo, and Gabriel. Along with her family, she is survived by many special nieces and nephews that were all kept in her prayers and close to her heart.
