Concert Pianist & Music Teacher, Jeannine C. B. Mills, of Woonsocket, Dies at 87

Jeannine C. B. Mills, 87, of Woonsocket, died Sunday, August 22, 2021, at Woonsocket Health Center. She was the wife of the late Gerald W. Mills.
Born and raised in Woonsocket she was a daughter of the late J. Albert E. St.Onge and Beatrice (Grignon) St.Onge. Jeannine was a graduate of St. Clare Girls High School Class of 1952. Jeannine pursued her talent and furthered her musical education as a graduate of the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston Class of 1958.

Jeannine was a talented concert pianist and could play music without notes just from memory. She was very skilled at the minute waltz and Bach and Beethoven were among her repertoire. Jeannine was a member of the National Guild of Piano Teachers and was listed in the Who’s Who of Music Directory.
True to her Quebecois heritage Jeannine loved to speak French and listen to music in French. Jeannine held her Catholic faith close to her heart and often prayed the rosary. She was a supporter of the Marie Rose Ferron Foundation and her cause. Jeannie will be remembered as a sweet and nice lady who loved music and her family.
Jeannine is survived by her daughter Jeri Anne Girard and her late husband Aldor J. Girard who passed away in 2005. She was the mother of the late Jeffrey Mills and the late Wesley Mills. Jeannine is also survived by her grandchildren Crystal, Candy, Brian, Jodie (US Army), Christopher, Megan, Amelia Hope, April Lynn, Dorothy, Gregory, Barry, Roxanne, and Shelly. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren and several great-great-grandchildren.
Her funeral will be Monday at 9:00 am from the Menard-Lacouture Funeral Home, 127 Carrington Ave. Woonsocket, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in Precious Blood Church, Carrington Ave. Woonsocket.
Burial will follow in Precious Blood Cemetery, Woonsocket.
Visiting hours are Sunday from 2-4 & 6-8 pm.
