Barbara A. (Fortier) Renault Dies at 68

Barbara A. (Fortier) Renault, 68, of Privilege Street, passed away on January 14, 2022, at Landmark Medical Center. 

She was the wife of the late Albert L. Renault. Born in Woonsocket, she was a daughter of the late Alfred and Bridgette (Thibeault) Fortier Sr. Barbara worked in the housekeeping department at Oakland Grove Health Care Center for over twenty years. She was a member of the Woonsocket Elks Lodge #850. Barbara loved dancing and listening to music. She was the former band Big Dog’s greatest fan. She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends especially her granddaughter and a new great-grandchild. Barbara was always up and ready for any type of fun adventure.

Barbara is survived by her daughters April Maclure of Woonsocket, Angel Maclure of North Smithfield, granddaughter Annalese Calo and great-granddaughter Ashlynn Raposo. She also leaves her sisters Theresa Allard of Woonsocket, Jeanne Budnick of Blackstone and Mary Schiller of North Kingstown, and her grandpup Millie. Barbara was predeceased by her siblings Alfred A. Fortier Jr., Antoinette Boisvert, and Tina Fortier.

Her funeral will be held Tuesday, January 25, 2022, at 9:00 am from the Fournier and Fournier Funeral Home, 99 Cumberland St., Woonsocket, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am at St. Joseph’s Church, Mendon Rd. Woonsocket.

Burial will follow in St. Jean Baptiste Cemetery in Bellingham. Visiting hours are Monday, January 24, 2022, from 5-7 pm.
