She was born in Limestone and raised in Holton, Maine. After high school graduation, she attended Ricker College. Some of Arlene’s best memories were working with her sibling on her parent's farm in Holton, Maine.

At 22, she fulfilled one of her dreams and moved to Providence, RI. Where she resided with one of her sisters. Continuing her dreams to travel she found herself sailing on the Queen Mary with a friend to Great Britain.

Arlene, with friends, vacationed to Colorado Springs, Colorado. They loved it and decided to stay and find jobs and so they did. As years passed her heart called her back to Rhode Island. She found employment and became a Customer Service Representative with Citizens Bank. Arlene worked there for 27 years until her retirement in 1995.

During her work years and now retired she continued her love of traveling to numerous vacation sites with her sisters, brothers, and close friends. Because Arlene loved art, she enrolled at RISD. Her lessons were in all kinds of artwork especially woodburning.

Arlene was a very dedicated Catholic during her retirement she volunteered at a religious store (Gabriel Trumpet) West Warwick, RI. She took trips to Medjugorje in Bosnia 3 times and witnessed visionaries having apparitions with The Blessed Mother.

Family and friends meant so much to Arlene that she made it a point to always stay in touch. She reached out with love, laughter, and always with a good listening ear. Another love of Arlene was playing cards and bingo. She shared this love of playing cards in particular with her immediate family and many friends along life’s way.

Arlene loved country and gospel music while living in Vera Beach, Florida. Arlene volunteered for 7 years as a “Pink Lady” for the Indian River Cleveland Clinic Hospital until she could no longer volunteer due to her kidney failure.

Arlene was a dialysis patient for 3 years and when she came out from her treatment she never complained. She always had that warm beautiful smile and wishing waiting dialysis patient, “Have a great day and God bless.”

The last few months she talked about her last trip home to see families and close friends, while at their home Arlene’s nephew planned a surprise yacht weekend trip to Newport, RI to cruise the Bay, see the boat show, and of course play cards with her immediate family.

Upon our trip to Florida, we decided to stop in Nashville, Tennessee to visit my son and daughter-in-law. Here was Arlene the country music lover right in the Heart of Nashville. My son and his wife surprised us with tickets to the Grand Ole Opry and saw some of her favorite singers. It was a great family gathering. Arlene got to see and play with a great-grandson. By far this trip to Rhode Island and Tennessee to see family and close friends was a super time that we would never forget.

Arlene is survived by six loving sisters and two brothers; Leona Valdes, Tacoma, WA; Irene Derosier, Scituate, RI; Pauline Daigle, Johnston, RI; Ruth Sides, Holton, Maine; Rita Gendolfe, N. Providence, RI; Nan Bassett, N. Kingston, RI; Ralph Albert, Warwick, RI; Rueben Albert, Orrington, ME; nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
