Warwick School Bus Company Announces Union Votes to Ratify Contract
After weeks of negotiations, a school bus driver contract has been reached in Warwick.
"First Student is pleased that ATU Local 618 has voted to ratify a contract that includes generous pay raises over the 3-year contract, increased 401(k) contributions, and other benefit improvements for our valued, hardworking Warwick school bus drivers," said First Student spokesperson Frank McMahon.
"We look forward to continuing our partnership with Warwick Public Schools to provide safe, reliable student bus transportation," McMahon added.

The agreement comes just a week after First Student said the union that represents bus drivers in Warwick was “holding the transportation of thousands of students hostage as a negotiating tactic” after the union rejected the previous contract offer.
A week prior, Mayor Frank Picozzi had announced that a bus strike was imminent -- before negotiations were extended.
