Storm Update: Winter Weather Advisory in Effect for RI Until Friday Night

The National Weather Service on Thursday afternoon forecasted an additonal three to seven inches of snow possible for southern New England through Friday night. 

On Thursday by 6 PM, Newport had nearly five inches of accumulation; Providence had just over an inch of snow.

The winter weather advisory is effect until 7 PM on February 19.

* WHAT...Mixed precipitation. Additional snow accumulations of 3
  to 7 inches and ice accumulations of a light glaze.

* WHERE...Portions of northern Connecticut, all of Massachusetts
  east of the Berkshires and Rhode Island.

* WHEN...Until 7 PM EST Friday.

* IMPACTS...Plan on slippery road conditions. The hazardous
  conditions could impact the morning or evening commute.
