RI State Police Arrest 2 Fugitive Brothers Wanted in Worcester for Armed Assault to Commit Murder

Rhode Island State Police arrested two fugitive brothers that were wanted in connection with a shooting and armed assault to murder that took place on June 21, 2019, in Worcester, Massachusetts, announced Colonel James Manni.
Kenneth Diaz, 22, and Jose Diaz, 19 were arrested by members of the Violent Fugitive Task Force and Woonsocket Police on the evening of July 9.
Kenneth Diaz was charged with the following:

- Firearm used in Commission of a Felony
- Assault and Battery Attempt with a Firearm
- Carrying Firearm without a License
- Carrying Loaded Firearm without a License, and
- Providence Superior Court Bench Warrant for Failure to Appear/Pre-Arraignment Conference on an original charge of Possession of Cocaine
Jose Diaz was charged with the following:
- Armed Assault to Murder;
- Assault and Battery Attempt with a Firearm
- Firearm used in Commission of a Felony
- Carrying Loaded Firearm without a License
- Carrying Firearm without a License, and
- Possession of Ammunition without FID Card.
The Arrests
Both brothers were charged with being fugitives from justice out of Massachusetts based on a warrant issued by the Worcester Police Department.
Detectives from the Worcester Police Department identified Kenneth and Jose Diaz as suspects involved in the shooting of an individual at “Wonder Cuts” Barber Shop located at 260 Lincoln Street, Worcester, Massachusetts on June 21, 2019.
Both Diaz brothers were arraigned at 6th Division District Court on July 10, 2019, as Fugitives from Justice on the above charges and turned over to the Worcester Police Department after waiving extradition.
