Pope Francis Urges Congress to Show Compassion to Syrian Refugees

On Thursday, Pope Francis addressed a joint meeting with the United States Congress. Pope Francis urged Congress to show compassion to Syrian refugees and asked Congress to treat the refugees "as they would want to be treated."

Pope Francis is on the third day of a six-day visit that marks his first Apostolic Journey to the United States. On the final day of his visit, Sunday, September 27, the World Meeting of Families Papal Mass will take place in Philadelphia.
The Papal Mass is scheduled for 4 PM in front of the Philadelphia Art Museum.
