About the Video
Luther and Puth sang "Someone Like You" back in 2011
Mark Franklin wrote for "Idol Chatter" the following about Luther:
Emily Luther’s blind audition on The Voice won’t mark her first appearance on national television.
Back in 2011, she and a fellow Berklee College of Music student recorded a duet of Adele’s “Someone Like You” for a Perez Hilton cover contest.
It became a YouTube sensation. Next thing, Emily knew, she and the fellow student were invited to perform the song on The Ellen Show, then found themselves signed to Ellen’s eleveneleven label.
Flash forward six years. That fellow student, Charlie Puth, is a pop sensation. Emily Luther, 25, is still waiting for her breakout moment.
