Suspect Sought by Police in Reported Breaking & Entering Incident in Smithfield

Smithfield Police are looking for a suspect in a reported breaking and entering in the town on Monday.

According to Smithfield police, at approximately 9:30 AM, officers responded to the incident reported on Ridge Road near the North Providence town line. 

A resident interrupted the suspect during the act, according to police.

Police say forced entry into the residence was confirmed, and Ring doorbell footage captured images of the suspect. 

The individual is believed to have arrived at  he scene in an older model Nissan Altima. 

The Smithfield Police Department is seeking  assistance from the public in identifying the suspect.
