Friday, June 12, 2015
The controversial firefighter overtime legislation has been pulled from consideration at the Rhode Island General Assembly Thursday afternoon -- but the Speaker's office said that a compromise is still being worked out.
"Yes, it's been postponed," said Larry Berman, Spokesperson for Rhode Island Speaker of the House Nicholas Mattiello. "They're still working on a compromise."
House and Senate Labor Committees were slated to hear the proposals today, before being taken off the calendar.

"It can still be worked on, there's still time," said Berman. "It's not unusual for bills to be taken off the calendar. It's just not ready it its current state."
