video: NEW: Langevin Talks Cybersecurity on C-SPAN

Monday, March 26, 2012

Congressman James Langevin (D-RI), co-founder of the Congressional Cybersecurity Caucus, appeared on C-SPAN’s Communicators over the weekend to address the current debate about cybersecurity legislation as both House and Senate leaders have recently indicated that bills will be brought to the floor in April.

Langevin, who authored the only comprehensive cyber legislation to pass either chamber, evaluates the different proposals under consideration in the House and Senate. While none of them are ideal, he explains his support for other bills he helped shape in the House and why he is pushing for passage of the Lieberman-Collins measure in the Senate even though he prefers something stronger. The interview particularly focuses on setting standards for privately owned and operated critical infrastructure companies and Langevin takes on Senator McCain’s misguided proposal for securing these entities.
