NEW: Kettle Proposes Special License Plate for Military Families
Thursday, February 16, 2012
Senator Nicholas D. Kettle, (R-Dist. 21, Coventry, Foster, Scituate), has introduced legislation that would allow family members of military servicemen and servicewomen who died in active duty to obtain a specialty license plate.
“It is important for Rhode Island to not only honor those who have served but also the families of those who have lost loved ones in combat,” Kettle said. “This bill is a small way for our state to do just that.”
The bill will allow the biological parent, stepparent, adoptive parent, spouse, sibling or child of a member of the United States armed services who lost his or her life while on active duty to obtain the plate.
