NEW: Governor Declares State Of Emergency

Governor Chafee has declared a state of emergency effective immediately as the state braces for Hurricane Irene.
Chafee said there is no question the state will be affected by the storm and that all resources will made available, including federal disaster help.
State beaches have not been closed yet, but campgrounds will close as on 3:00pm Saturday.
