East Greenwich High School, a top performer in GoLocalProv's annual rankings, is a highly ranked school by US News & World Report.

While two Rhode Island high schools--Classical and Barrington--made New England's Top 50 Public High School list for 2013, seven additional schools earned honorable mention.

To see how Classical and Barrington high schools ranked in New England's Top 50 Public High Schools, go here.

With a national ranking of #970 overall, East Greenwich High School is another top-flight Rhode Island public high school--in fact, EG High has conquered GoLocalProv's own Top High Schools rankings 3 times. Following East Greenwich High, Times2 Academy in Providence came in at #1,345 and Mount Hope High School in Bristol was named the #1,942 public high school in America by US News & World Report.

After these three standout schools, five more public, charter and technical high schools in Rhode Island were recognized nationally by US News & World Report for 2013, receiving bronze medal status from US News.

Below, see which Rhode Island schools followed the state's top performers, and compare each school's college readiness index from US News as well as its proficiency results and student/teacher ratios.

Note on academic indicators, below: As part of its assessment and ranking, US News creates a College Readiness Index score to reflect how many students take AP and IB exams, and how they perform (the maximum index score is 100). A school's bronze, silver or gold medal status is based on this score. Math and reading proficiency scores indicate what percentage of students were at or above proficiency in RI's NECAP testing in both subjects.
