Beginning March 1 and continuing throughout the month, 14 of Rhode Island’s charter public school will hold blind lotteries to determine their student body for the 2012-2013 school year. By law, each charter public school is required to conduct a blind lottery when the number of applicants exceeds the number of available spaces. All charter public school lotteries will be conducted under the supervision of the Rhode Island Department of Education.
