The Rhode Island chapter of the National Education Association is not supporting the state’s application for $75 million in federal education funding through the Race to the Top program, according to 630 WPRO, a GoLocalProv media partner.

Education Commissioner Deborah Gist hand delivered the application to the Department of Education today. Rhode Island did not get any funding in the first round of applications earlier this year.
