National Weather Service Issues Severe Thunderstorm Warning for Providence

The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Providence until 2:15 p.m. A flash flood watch has also been put into effect.
"A chance of showers and thunderstorms. Some of the storms could produce small hail, gusty winds, and heavy rain. Mostly sunny, with a high near 85. South wind around 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%. New rainfall amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms," said the National Weather Service.
