Providence Police made multiple gun arrests on Broad Street on Sunday.

According to police, there was a large disturbance in the area, with people physically assaulted and bleeding.

Police say one gun arrest was made early Sunday evening, before officers were called to disperse a large crowd gathered in front of Mi Sueno shortly after 9 PM.

At that time, police made another gun arrest - this time, of an individual with reportedly dozens of rounds of ammunition.

About Arrest

According to police, while dispersing the crowd, they observed an individual with a cross-body satchel, and he then tried to evade police.

Police say, believing the man’s satchel could contain a gun, they attempted to grab the bag.

At that time, police say the suspect - later identified as Michael Soto, age 36 - resisted; officers said they searched the bag and found a loaded gun as well as multiple loaded magazines.

Soto was arrested and transported to Central Station; he is now facing multiple gun charges.
