Friday, January 21, 2011
Al Verrecchia, the former CEO of Hasbro, has resigned his position as the vice chairman of the state Economic Development Corporation, state officials confirmed today.
Governor Lincoln Chafee has accepted the resignation, according to Christian Vareika, a spokesman.
“The Governor and Verrecchia had a discussion about the resignation, which was amicable,” Vareika said. “The Governor is grateful for Verrecchia’s service to Rhode Island, and hopes that Verrecchia is able to further serve Rhode Island in a volunteer capacity on a Board or Commission in the future.”
