In the short time since the integration of the SeeClickFix widget into the GoLocalProv homepage, dozens of reports have been filed regarding issues such as missing streetlights, excessive garbage, and poor quality roads.

Last week, GoLocalTV anchors Greg Berman and Lauren Marchetti have personally followed up on some of the public’s complaints. Today on GoLocalTV, they investigate a report vandalism taking place in Cranston's historic Pocasset Cemetery.

When a report is filed, SeeClickFix automatically notifies the appropriate officials within the given town. Councilwoman Leslie Ann Luciano of Cranston told GoLocalTV that she received an email alert about the cemetery vandalism and was able “to take immediate action by notifying the proper department.” She was able to directly post the steps taken to remedy the situation. Councilwoman Luciano also told GoLocalTV that “SeeClickfix is a fantastic way to demonstrate to people that action was taken to resolve their concerns.”

GoLocalTV also reached out to Cranston mayor Allan Fung for his take on SeeClickFix. Mayor Fung said he is “a proponent of any technology that allows better communication between government and its residents in order to better deliver timely services.” He highlighted SeeClickFix as “another valuable tool that makes local government more accessible to the average person who may not know where to go” and emphasized that the site “provides another avenue for cities and towns to interact with their constituents in a positive manner.”

Have you seen something in your community that needs fixing? Make your voices heard by using the SeeClickFix widget on the GoLocalProv homepage. Local public works officials will automatically be notified of your complaint by e-mail, and GoLocalTV will continue to follow up on issues that go unaddressed.
