The coverage was sparked by a recent incident in which two members of the Men’s Basketball Team were charged with assaulting another student.
PC basketball is a treasure and most every Rhode Islander has a great memory of a big Friar win. More importantly, the college is ranked amongst the best colleges in America and is in fact ranked number two in the country by US News and World Report. Providence College is a great community asset.
But, there have been four major incidents in which an African-American player has been involved in an alleged assault on a fellow student going all the way back to Marvin Barnes. We wanted to know why.
