16-Year-Old Girl, Adult Charged in Providence Triple Shooting on New Year’s

Providence Police have announced that they have made arrests related to a triple shooting in the city on New Year's. 

On January 1, GoLocalProv was first to report that three people had been shot in a night of violence. 

In four separate incidents over just eight hours, Providence Police were sent racing across the city, and multiple people were taken to the hospital.

The flurry of shootings, a stabbing, and a hammer attack took place in neighborhoods throughout the city.

 

About Arrests

On Wednesday, police announced that they arrested Vanhersing Francisco, 19, in connection with the triple shooting that occurred on Berkshire Street on January 1. 

Francisco was apprehended on Wednesday morning at his residence on Public Street, said police. He is being arraigned on the following charges: 

• Three counts of Felony Assault 

• Drive-By Shooting 

• Possession of a Firearm Without a License 

In addition, a 16-year-old female has been charged with Felony Assault in connection with this incident, according to police.
