West Shore Coffee Bar's Saffer Talks Creative Coffee on LIVE

Laura Afonso of GoLocalProv meets with Dan Saffer, owner of newly opened West Shore Coffee Bar. Having just recently opened in May, Saffer aimed to bring the West Shore of Warwick a much-needed jolt of energy with creative coffee drinks and breakfast items.

“More than just your average iced coffee, we create espresso drinks that are fun. Bringing it back to our childhood, we are doing cereal milk lattes. We soak the cereal for 12 hours before processing it with espresso for drinks like the Cocoa Puffs or Cinnamon Toast Crunch latte” Saffer encourages customers to come in and ask for the “secret drink menu”, a list of weekly specials that are only shared in-house. 

After the day time rush luls, West Shore Coffee Bar turns down the espresso maker and serves craft beers and wines. “We source mostly local Rhode Island beers and keep a rotation of wines. Whether it is 7am and you need a coffee, or it is 7pm and you want a beer, we’ve got it”. 

The involvement of the artistic community is present at West Shore. The walls are dotted with paintings and photography, and the space is open to local musicians. Being open until 11pm on Friday and Saturday nights allows for customers to even use the space for events.
