Rebellion’s Sullivan Eager To See NE Revs Playing in Prov on Weds

Ray Sullivan
Soccer fan and Vice President of The Rebellion, Ray Sullivan says he’s most looking forward to seeing the New England Revolution play in an intimate setting at Providence College come Wednesday at 7:30 PM. The Revolution host the Rochester Rhinos in the fourth round of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup.

“It’s an opportunity to be up close and personal with the players and see some great soccer here in Providence,” Sullivan says.

The Rebellion is an independent group that supports the Revolution. Sullivan says they have about 400 members this year.

When it comes to the match at Chapey Field, Sullivan says he thinks Coach Jay Heaps will have his hands full trying to balance the priorities of trying to be competitive in the Open Cup and looking ahead at the rest of the schedule.

Last year, the Revolution made a run to the Open Cup Final, but lost to FC Dallas.

“It was an exciting thing to be a part of,” Sullivan says, “We’re hoping we can do it again this year (make the finals).”

Rebels (Rebellion members) and the public are invited to meet at 5 PM for a gathering at The Abbey. Sullivan says they’ll marching from The Abbey to Chapey Field at Anderson Stadium at 7 p.m.
