Providence Pilates Center Debuts "Pilates On The Go" Program on LIVE

Cheryl Turnquist, Providence Pilates Center
Celebrating its 18th year in business, Providence Pilates is a staple in Providence's East Side fitness scene. Founder and instructor Cheryl Turnquist joined GoLocal LIVE’s Chelsea Guay to discuss the success and expansion of the studio as well as the launch of the "Pilates On The Go" program.

The Providence Pilates Center is a pilates studio that aims to provide a welcoming and warm environment for the community to discover the benefits of pilates. In 2001, Cheryl started Providence Pilates Center and over the years the studio has grown from a single instructor to nine, and from one space to two studios.

The center offers a wide variety of classes to ensure that there is something for everyone; including reformer classes, barre, and spin. All instructors are certified by a 600-hour program where they are trained on every apparatus and spin, barre, and TRX instructors are all certified in their respective disciplines - many have multiple certifications and professional affiliations.

Much of the discussion on GoLocal LIVE  - WATCH ABOVE - was about the overall experience of a Providence Pilates class and what to expect as well as how to get started as a beginner to fitness.

When asked what makes Providence Pilates different than many of the other fitness classes around, Turnquist mentioned the fact that they are constantly keeping up with the latest equipment in Pilates, and they strive to be a community and not just a class.

Providence Pilates offers Private Sessions on the Pilates apparatus which will be tailored to the level and needs of the participants. They also offer many types of group workouts. See group classes and find out more here.
