Prov. Fire Union Chief Doughty on LIVE: "We're Opposed to Providence Entering Statewide MERS System"

Providence firefighter union head Paul Doughty spoke to the recent gas leak at the Manchester Street Power Plant in Providence, the firefighters' response, and said that the sound, while not a technical explosion, "certainly sounded like one."

Doughty also spoke to his concerns in the plan put forth by General Treasurer Ira Magaziner to allow municipalities to enter the statewide MERS system, and raised several concerns about Providence in particular -- and said that he is opposed to Providence joining.
