Aquanis Founder and CEO Fine Talks About Transforming the Wind Power Industry

Neil Fine
Neil Fine of Aquanis joined Business Monday on GoLocal LIVE and talked about how the technology being developed by his East Greenwich company could transform the renewable industry.

Plasma actuator is a purely electric bladeless fan. A plasma actuator is a solid-state electrical device that consists of a thin layer of insulating material (a dielectric) separating a pair of offset electrodes. The implementation has the potential to dramatically improve the efficiency of windmills by making their blades more efficient.

Through federal, state and private financing the company has raised about $1 million and hope to be able to continue to grow and ultimately manufacture in Rhode Island.

The impact could be profound. But, don't expect to see the commercialization of the product in the immediate future. The company is still 24 months away from product launch.

Fine joined GoLocal LIVE's Small Biz focus as part of an ongoing sponsored content partnership between GoLocalProv and Commerce RI.
