LIVE: Shop Last Minute Gifts with A Purpose at The Cove Pop Up

The shop is a collaboration of local organizations working with adults with developmental and intellectual disabilities through art making and skill building.
Anna Thompson, Studio Art Coordinator at The Cove Center Inc. joined GoLocal LIVE’s Chelsea Guay to discuss how this pop-up came to be and its impact on the artists who create each unique item.
The Cove pop-up store features paintings, ceramic bowls and dishes, handmade ornaments, greeting cards, wood boards, textiles, and poinsettias, as well as a gift-wrapping service. It will be open through the remainder of the holiday season on Tuesday through Sunday, 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.
The pop-up is part of The Cove Center, which offers a range of instructional, employment and residential programs for DD/ID adults. Founded in 1985 and currently serving over 100 clients daily, The Cove Center is one of the three corporations under the Groden Network.
Much of the discussion on GoLocal LIVE - WATCH ABOVE - was about the future of the pop up as well as the impact that it has on the artists who participate in the program.
