LIVE: Pawtucket Native Alper Creates Dating App Hater, Matching People Based On What They Hate

Brendan Alper
Over half a million people around the world now use the dating app “Hater” which Pawtucket native Brendan Alper designed to help match people based on things they don’t like.

There are three thousand topics people can bond over their hatred of, like paying for guacamole and slow-walking.

Alper, Hater founder and CEO, says the idea started off in a comedy sketch and grew into reality from there.

The Brown University graduate and his app have been recognized by Business Insider, Maxim and Tech Crunch.

Hater will launch an Android version in August and moving forward, Alper says they will push for more of a social element on the app.

So what are the top five things Rhode Island Hater users hate the most? Alper says they are: Vladimir Putin, All Lives Matter, tipping less than 15%, Tech Blogs and the show Girls on HBO.
