“Our public spaces are equalizers, spaces without walls to be shared by our community,” Smith says, “I hope that this lasting and living monument to play will continue to serve to bring our children, families and community together, which makes us all stronger.”
The playground is described by Smith as “uniquely accessible for children of all abilities.”
It includes sensory rich elements such as musical pipes, drums, and also has swings and spinners.
Smith says the playground is a gift in memory of Brandon Goldner from parents Barbara and Brian Goldner. Brian Goldner is Hasbro Chairman and CEO.
The Downtown Providence Parks Conservancy is a public-private partnership dedicated to creating a parks system in the historic urban core of the city.
