“We’re Facing a Leadership Challenge” — Deckman on New Book on LIVE

“We’re facing a leadership challenge in today’s world — politically, and in the business world,” said Deckman, who had served as the Executive Director of the Rhode Island Republican Party. “The challenge is we have the four most independent-minded generations in the history of humanity in the workforce — and none of them want to be told what to do without knowing why to do it.”
“So that really poses a problem for management — because management has been raised under a command and control hierarchical leadership model,” said Deckman. “So they’re bumping up against all these independent workers. And their leadership model doesn’t adapt to that.”
Deckman spoke to how his new book addresses those leadership challenges.
“As leaders, we must not only accept this reality, but we must also begin exploring and embracing new leadership models that align with he world in which we live and the consciousness of the people we lead,” said Deckman. “The way forward must include models and methods that value individualism over institutionalism and in turn free human capital to increase levels of employee engagement and drive profits.”
Deckman said the book helps readers to discover:
* How to tap into the hidden knowledge base of your company for problem-solving and innovation
* How to dramatically improve employee engagement
* How to define, embrace, and influence your organization's culture
* The secrets of connecting with employees and building morale
* How to lead with authenticity, integrity, and respect
* Key principles for developing yourself as a conscious leader
