RI Singer-Songerwriter Lato on New Children’s Book “Try” — and Book Tour
Sunday, April 21, 2019
Rhode Island singer-songwriter Greg Lato joined GoLocal News Editor Kate Nagle on GoLocal LIVE, where he spoke to his new children’s book — and song, “Try,” and hit upcoming book tour dates.
“This is my first foray into children’s music and children’s books, so it’s new for me, but I’m having so much fun doing it,” said Lato.
“The book is ‘Try,’ and it’s basically giving [kids] encouragement…and it deals with different topics that a child may face — different challenges or issues. It deals with bullying, illness, feelings of helplessness, exclusion,” said Lato, “It encourages them to try…every accomplishment starts with the first self of trying, regardless of fear or failure, or feeling like you’re not any good at something — everyone has to try. I instill that in my daughters.”
