Trillo on LIVE: "I'm Not Going to Tell You What You Want to Hear"

"The Governor's [approval ratings] 'should' be higher -- she's made some serious mistakes, blunders," said Trillo, the former Rhode Island House of Representatives Minority Whip. "I think her biggest problem is that while she's a capable person in many ways, she can't solve problems, and she's proven that over and over."
"People need to look at the candidates from a bigger standpoint. I'm not going to run in the race and tell you everything you want to hear," said Trillo, who said what Raimondo and Fung do is "survey and test."
"Fung will tell you look at Garden City and Chapel View," said Trillo, when asked what Fung's "successes" have been. "I knew Freddy Carpionato. Freddy Carpionato was a success. He built all these properties -- he didn't need Allan Fung, he would have done it with or without him. You think the developer had a consideration as to who was Mayor? Mickey Mouse could have been Mayor."
Trillo on Trump -- and Morgan
Trillo, who had served as President Donald Trump's honorary campaign chair in Rhode Island, spoke to his support of the President's economic strategy -- but not all of his tactics.
"I do not like his Tweeting," said Trillo. "I try and look at the big picture, he's been good for the country as a whole."
Trillo also said if elected, he would consider courting House Minority Leader Patricia Morgan, who lost to Fung in the Republican gubernatorial primary.
"I'd definitely try to tap Patricia Morgan -- she jumps right in," said Trillo. "I served with her for years, she's a fighter."
