Cranston City Councilman John Donegan joined GoLocalProv News Editor Kate Nagle on GoLocal LIVE, where he spoke to the upcoming consideration in committee this coming Thursday of the "Cranston Plastic Bag Reduction Ordinance."

"The City of Cranston is considering an ordinance to prohibit the use of single-use plastic bags at the point of sale within the City," said Donegan. "This is a bipartisan effort, introduced by [Council Member] Chris Paplauskas and myself, to protect our environment here in Cranston."

Donegan spoke working jointly with Paplauskas on the effort, how it would be "phased-in" over a period of time, and what he thinks of Cranston Mayor Allan Fung's view on the proposal, and more.

As of Friday, March 8, over 330 people have signed at "Pass the Cranston Plastic Bag Reduction Ordinance" Change.org petition
