Sustainable Sites To Open Their Doors
Wednesday, September 29, 2010
This weekend, 17 public and private buildings that exemplify sustainable building standards and energy-efficient design open their doors for the annual Green Buildings Open House (GBOH) hosted by the Northeast Sustainable Energy Association (NESEA). Many of the sites on the tour are designed to the U.S. Green Building Council’s (USGBC) LEED™ standard and feature high-efficiency, net zero energy systems. State-of-the art private homes from Jamestown to Rumford are included as are commercial properties like the Potter League for Animals in Middletown, Salty Brine Bath House in Narragansett, the Portsmouth Abbey Wind Turbine and AVTECH Software in Warren.
