Wrapping paraphernalia. Gather all of your wrapping paper, gift bags, bows, ribbons, boxes and tissue paper. It’s time to organize all of this. Sort everything. Think about how you want to function with all of this.  Which organizing products will work well for what you have? Create simple systems. Before you head out to the store to purchase wrapping materials, check this spot first. I bet you have more than you need!

Decorations. This is going to be really easy. As you are taking out all of your decorations, can you declutter any? Throw away anything that’s broken or no longer working. Check all of your lights and throw away ones that no longer work. Once you do this, you’ll be one step closer to being organized. When the season is over, you’ll be able to categorize everything into designated bins.

Guest bathroom. The guest bathroom should take you no more than 1 hour to organize. (Depending on what you have in it, it may take a little longer.) Start decluttering and organizing. Keep clean lines and just the essentials on the countertops. Decorate for the holidays or keep your daily décor, it’s your choice.

Menus for the holidays. If you are cooking for the holidays, this is a great time to write out your menu plans. After you write your menu plans, make your food shopping list. Be sure to make your food shopping list while looking in your food pantry to avoid purchasing duplicate items.

Clean out and organize your car. You may be carrying more in your car this time of year. Between all of the purchases you will be making this holiday, and family members and friends in and out of your car, you don’t want to be embarrassed about the condition of your car. Clean and organize the inside of your car and trunk.

Once these projects are completed, make a plan to keep them organized by creating simple systems that work for you. Create routines in these areas and you will form habits and that’s what will help you maintain these areas. It’s time to release some stress this week and tackle a few holiday organizing projects!
